Our Transition Trails Story
In 2009, Angela and Kim were introduced to Salesforce. Angela, from the data aspect, and Kim as a nuts and bolts admin. They have been together since, working through problems, fighting for their causes, and bouncing ideas off one another.
One of those ideas – the one that started all of this – was Transition Trails. It didn’t have a name – much like an artist might write a song, before they have a title; or an author may be a few chapters into a book, before they’re sure what to call it. But, it was an idea. ‘How can we bring the next generation of folks into this world?’
Then, in 2020, during the height of the Pandemic, the target came along. Hugh, a friend of Angela’s, was driving an 18 wheeler. Something he’d been doing since he’d gotten out of the Marine Corps. And he wanted to transition to Salesforce. At first, it was to be able to hold a conversation with Angela about her work. Then it became a passion. The idea that he could build something, with no coding experience, and make it DO THINGS was amazing!
The concept of someone with no college background, and as blue collar as they came, being able to make it in the world of Salesforce was catalyzed. Hugh was able to get his certification, while driving a truck, in June of 2020. But he needed some experience. After all, whatever his ‘talents’, experience was even more essential for him than for someone with a computer science degree.
That is where the first customer of what would become Transition Trails came into the picture. Through the guidance of Angela and Kim – one on how to work with the business to really understand their needs, and one on how to build for that business in a way that was scalable and efficient – Hugh was able to build out the customer’s Salesforce almost from scratch.
Fast forward a couple of years. Hugh is working at a premier Salesforce firm, and Angela owns her company’s Salesforce instance. Kim, as Kim does, makes that instance sing.
The ideal has come to fruition. Folks: We present to you, Transition Trails. Led by the team of Angela, Kim, and Hugh, we are driven to not only bring in the next generation of Salesforce rockstars, we are driven to ensure EVERYONE has the chance to become that rockstar.
